Purpose/Goal

I seek to discuss and understand political and theological issues from a Christian worldview (perspective). What does the Bible say about political issues? What does it not say? How can we apply what the Bible says to our modern political context?

What is a Christian worldview?

Christianity is the worldview that most accurately describes reality and the human condition.

It first accepts the existence of God (Romans 1:20). God is perfect in His nature and character. God is love (1 John 4:8). God, being eternal, omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent, is the first-cause for the origin of everything while eternally existing himself.

Secondly, it acknowledges the existence of good and evil, where good is a fundamental outworking of God’s perfect character while evil, or sin, is that which is contrary to God’s character (James 1:17, 1 John 1:5).

Thirdly, it realizes that all humans have sinned and thus fall short of God’s perfection (Romans 3:23). This sin has separated every human from God.

Lastly, it recognizes that all humans have intrinsic worth and value because we are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). That is, regardless of race, gender, or any other defining characteristic, God loves every individual and desires to be reconciled with them (Acts 17:26-27).

In order to be reconciled to us, there needed to be justice for the sin that had been committed. To accomplish this, God himself came down in the flesh in the person of Jesus (Colossians 1:15), lived a perfect life (Hebrews 4:15), and took on all the sins of this world on the cross and bore the punishment for all of it, resulting in his death (2 Corinthians 5:21). This fulfilled God’s justice and demonstrated God’s love and grace by sparing us from what deserved. 3 days later, Jesus was raised from death, seen by many witnesses (1 Corinthians 15:3-8), and ascended to the Father in heaven, giving hope to all mankind for the possibility of redemption and eternal life with God (John 3:16). And if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
